      <image:title>Experiance</image:title>
<image:caption>During my fifteen-year career as a professional equestrian based in San Diego, many dogs came under my care and supervision, from clients' dogs to strays to my own personal dogs. Each individual needed some degree of training, but before that, they needed to be understood. While competing my personal dog Panzer, I helped coach in my IPO club to develop training programs to meet their goals. I have also worked closely with a former K9 handler from the Navy, both to help establish her rescue The Ddamien Project and to share knowledge and insights to this day.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Experiance</image:title>
<image:caption>After moving back to Santa Barbara, I sat in and learned from a variety of working dog disciplines, including law enforcement K9 training, search and rescue, and K9 Street League seminars. Additionally seeking out information and learning opportunities from trainers who specialize in developing Personal Protection Dogs, French Ring competition dogs, and IPO competition dogs.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Experiance</image:title>
<image:caption>Most recently, I spent a year at a Santa Barbara dog training company honing my training structure for working-type puppies and dogs and a variety of owners, forging partnerships and lasting, healthy relationships between dog and human. Here, I specialized in training dogs deemed “aggressive” or “highly reactive” to other dogs and humans. I’ve found that so often it’s not true aggression but a mismanagement of the dog and lack of clarity in communication. When the right expectations are set and healthy alternatives are offered, aggressive behavior often dissipates naturally, but it's all about understanding what motivates the dog.</image:caption>

<image:caption>“Basenjis are notoriously difficult and frustrating to train, let alone recall, and after working with three different trainers and training approaches that didn't seem to fit my goals and relationship style, I had accepted my fate that I would need to give up my vision of having a dog with reliable off-leash recall and safely ignoring other dogs. Dani's confidence in being able to meet my goals -- and not pushing standardized one-size-fits-all approach -- was revitalizing and encouraging. She listened first, learning our style and relationship, before showing us how to establish and maintain boundaries and how to communicate consistently. ” — From Rose and Ozzlette</image:caption>

<image:title>My Dogs - Sonny came into the fold via another avenue, a few years ago when the Panz and I were still living in San Diego my brother, Carlin, called me and asked what my opinion was on Australian Cattle dogs. What a loaded question, I coached him on the propensity for nipping and the continual training in order to counteract that instinct. We spoke about how hardy they were and how much energy, he wanted what the Pans and I had, he wanted a partner in crime, someone to go out romping in the hills with, and go everywhere and do everything with. I remember hanging up the phone and laughing, proud he was taking the step to find a buddy and laughing at the prospect of who he would find. Enter Sonny.</image:title>

<image:title>My Dogs - The first three days with her were a little difficult, she had some serious baggage, I questioned my decision to take her in immediately. It wasn’t that I thought she was irredeemable but I did not think I could carve out the extra time it was clearly going to take to get her over the hump and into a new home. Boy am I glad I pushed through those first few days, come the morning of day two we turned a corner so quickly and drastically it was like someone had flipped on a light switch, and by day three it was pretty clear I would become a foster fail, although I was still not willing to admit it.</image:title>

Please give me a call or shoot me an email, I’m here to help and look forward to helping my community enjoy all that dog ownership has to offer.</image:title>
